TV Commercial Shoot for Hairal7

This was a tricky one. An infomercial, kind of like an advertisement with all the information to be included in one film. And no, that was not the tricky part. The tricky part came in when we had to shoot two models showcasing their hair and applying the product. We had made a decision of shooting it on a chroma key as a background and then give it a beautiful white background. That became a problem, firstly because removing a key, especially where hair plays the major role in the whole film, was very tedious. Not that we were not up for it but another tricky part which was the time constrain. We finally ended up deciding to shoot on a white background. No, there is more on shooting on a white background, but, I will come to that later.

We had less than a week’s time for the final deliverable, and the production design had to be done in two days. From storyboarding, model hunt, prop hunt, everything arranged in a couple of days. And there we were on the set, early in the morning, silent, the smell of fresh white paint all over the set. And in no time, there was running around, shouting, calling out, takes and retakes.

Anything shot on a white background looks beautiful, but only when it is shot beautifully. We had a fine line of maintaining the beauty when shooting on a white background. Managing all that throughout we shot for 10 hours straight. Two models, one product, one set, how hard can it be? With one day left for the final delivery. On one hand we were editing and on the other we were making the motion graphics. By the end of the day mix it all together and bam! We have an infomercial. With a little late night work and busy studio. We gave the final delivery on the fixed deadline. Now by the time you have read this blog, we might have delivered another video. How about we make one for you?
